“The Economics of Great Communication”

Session Description:

In this course, Dr. Maguire will explore the importance and benefits of great communication within a dental practice.  This is a subject rarely spoken about in dental continuing education, and yet from Dr. Maguire’s experience, being a great communicator leads to more satisfied patients, happier and more productive dental teams, greater job satisfaction, less employee turnover, and increased practice production.

Learning objectives:  At the end of this session the attendees will:

1. Understand the connection between great communication, your emotional happiness, and financial success
2. Understand how influence and trust can lead to greater treatment acceptance, attract new patients, retain staff, and accomplish goals
3. Take the DiSC Personality Assessment to learn the basic applications to help connect oneself with team members and patients
4. Develop a step-by-step communication action plan to implement in your practice on Monday morning.

Dr. Maguire has practiced dentistry for 34 years. He had a successful solo private practice for 28 years in Wolfeboro, NH and retired in October 2018. He received his DDS from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in strategic communication and leadership from Seton Hall University.  He is also past president of the NH Dental Society and is a Fellow in both The international College of Dentists and The American College of Dentists. Dr. Maguire is a speaker, coach and consultant, devoting himself full-time to helping dentists find more joy, more fulfillment, and more financial success in their lives and in their dental practices.  He is also a certified instructor for the DiSC Personality Assessment. He has been featured in audio podcasts with the Academy of General Dentistry, Ignite DDS, and The Dental Brief.  He is published in Dental Economics, Dentistry IQ, Dental Entrepreneur, the Pankeygram – The Pankey Institute newsletter and with Dr. Bicuspid. He is passionate about communication, passionate about people, and passionate about helping dentists and their teams thrive.

The Seventh District Dental Society is an ADA/CERP recognized provider of Mandatory Continuing Education.

Continuing Education (CE) credits are awarded for all lectures that meet the NYSED requirements.

One hour of credit is awarded for each 50 minutes of presentation attended.

CE forms for NYS Continuing Education requirements will be given to each attendee when checking in at registration. 

To verify attendance, a four-digit code, read at the end of each seminar must be marked on the CE form. 

After completing the form please bring the white copy to the registration table before leaving.

The yellow copy is for your own records.  It is recommended that you retain copies of all your CE forms in case of audit.
